Optimism has taken over the sector and the 2022 season promises great excitement for companies and passengers.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the 2021/22 cruise season is expected to generate around 35,000 jobs and inject R$ 2.5 billion into the national economy. The data was provided by CLIA Brasil – Associação Brasileira de Cruzeiros Marítimos –, the national arm of the Cruise Lines Internacional Association, the largest entity in the cruise sector.

The variety of offers is huge! There are different options for every taste, and companies have been offering tourists a range that ranges from First Class facilities to themed cruises (Christmas, New Year's Eve and Carnival, for example).

Thus, it is possible to sail on boats that are real cities on the high seas in packages such as: cruise with your children; “older age” passengers; child-free cruises; all inclusive (all-you-can-eat food and drinks); romantic cruises; group trips and fairs, among others.

According to CLIA Brasil, the current season, which runs from October 31st to April 19th, will have more than 566 thousand beds offered. And, with some of the restrictions on international travel still in force, some companies that previously made their routes through South America redirected to destinations on the coast of Brazil.

The itineraries include the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Salvador, Angra dos Reis, Balneário Camboriú, Búzios, Cabo Frio, Fortaleza, Ilha Grande, Ilhabela, Ilhéus, Itajaí, Maceió, Porto Belo and Recife.

The release of cruises, of course, is conditional on compliance with health protocols to avoid contamination from Covid-19. The procedures for carrying out tours in complete safety stipulated by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) include:

Proof of complete vaccination against Covid-19 for boarding of all passengers;

Use of masks;

1.5m distance between groups of people;

Allowed passenger limit corresponding to a maximum of 75% of the ship's capacity;

Obligation to present a negative RT-PCR test carried out up to 72 hours or an antigen test carried out up to 24 hours before boarding;

Daily 10% testing of passengers on board and 10% of crew;

Weekly testing of the entire crew on board, among others.

It is time, therefore, to take advantage of the packages and always pay attention to security protocols.
